Nokia 2 Launched in India.
HMD Global has officially announced the entry-level Nokia 2 smartphone. The device comes with a 5-inch HD display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 212 SoC.
The highlights of the Smartphone include the 4100mAh battery that offers up to 2 days of life and premium design. It is a low-end smartphone that will compete against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4A and Moto C.
Nokia 2 is built out of polycarbonate but features a 6000 Series Aluminium frame. HMD Global says the smartphone’s 5-inch HD LTPS display is best-in-class with a 1:1300 contrast ratio, and complete with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It also has access to Google Assistant, and HMD boasts it is the only phone in the segment with the feature. The Nokia 2 will launch with Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) but has a promised upgrade to Android 8.0 (Oreo).
Price And Availability.
The Nokia 2 price in India has not been revealed. However, HMD Global did announce a global suggested retail price of EUR 99, which is approximately Rs. 7,500. The smartphone will be available from mid-November.
The Nokia 2 will comes in three colour variants – Pewter Black with black face and frame, Pewter White with a white face, black frame, and Copper, with a black face, black back, and copper frame.
The dual-SIM (Nano) Nokia 2 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat, and sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) LTPS In-Cell Touch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC (quad-core, clocked up to 1.3GHz) with 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
As for storage, the Nokia 2 comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. Connectivity options on the Nokia 2 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio with RDS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, and proximity sensor. It measures 143.5×71.3×9.3mm and is IP52-rated (for drip protection).
Processor: The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 212 processor which is a successor to the Snapdragon 210. It features an ARM Cortex A7 quad-core SoC clocked at up to 1.3GHz.
RAM: 1GB LPDDR3.
Internal storage: The Nokia 2 comes with 8GB of internal storage that’s expandable.
Display: The phone comes with 5-inch 720p HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top for protection.
Camera: 8MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 5MP front-facing camera.
Software: Nokia 2 comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, it is confirmed to get an update to Android 8.0 Oreo very soon.
Battery: Nokia 2 is backed by a 4,100mAh battery which company claims can power the phone for up to 2 days.
Price: The Nokia has been launched at 99 Euros globally.
